Who We Are
Welcome To Love Rising
We are a radically inclusive and welcoming community where God's love rises above every boundary. We faithfully embrace all who follow Jesus, regardless of race, age, gender identity or sexual orientation, and regardless of ethnicity, marital status, ability, economic status, or neighborhood. Love Rising Lutheran Church's vision is to boldly represent God's love in the world...by building a community rooted in justice, grounded in equity, flowing with love, strengthened through prayer, and united by authentic relationship. We are a church where love takes action, where every heart is seen, every voice is valued, and every soul is embraced. Together, we are building love--one life, one family, one neighbor at a time.
Our Mission
We seek to live out our mission as a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and faithful family of believers—committed to prayer, reaching others, giving generously, and serving with love. We embrace diversity and strive to be a radically inclusive community where every person is welcomed, valued, and empowered to grow in Christ.
What We Do
Get Involved
Through our retreat center, small group Bible studies, neighborhood block club, and partnerships with organizations serving the community in our building, we are rooted in this community and discerning God's vision for our church in this place. One of our goals is to have every member commit to be actively involved in a ministry in our church. Ministry today happens inside churches, at work, in coffee shops and parks and neighborhood association meetings, in hospital rooms and at kitchen tables. We believe that ministries become life-giving when we find the place where our passion and joy meet the community's needs. We can do this by: Continuing faithfully in a ministry that you've been serving and feel called to continue; joining a new ministry to learn, stretch or grow, and/or to share new gifts and passions; cooperating with the Holy Spirit and other members to bring forth a new ministry.

Our preferred method is Breeze Online Giving which also includes a Text-to-Give option. This is a church-specific platform that aids us with our recordkeeping. Please note that the church incurs a small fee with each donation via online or text. The fee amount will be displayed with a box to check to add the fee to the donation. We would appreciate if our givers would consider adding the fee in order for the church to receive the total intended donation.

If you do not have a PayPal account, please note that the church incurs a small fee with each donation. We would appreciate if our givers would consider increasing their donation to offset the fee in order for the church to receive the total intended donation.
Checks and money orders are accepted in person or mailed to 21230 Moross Rd., Detroit, MI 48236.
We also have a Community Relief Fund (CRF) which was implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have been able to assist many people in financial need through these difficult times. Please add a note to your donation to designate a gift to the CRF.
